Caution?

I have been using Nikon cameras for over 30 years now. I have never had a problem with them and over the years I have had 4 different ones. Never the actual top of the line but always well up the list.

I bought another new one the other day a digital single lens reflex and since I intend to use it at my nephews wedding on the weekend I have been diligently reading the manual.

As I expected most of the information is the same or very similar to what I have been used to in the past. There is also of course many new and wonderful options which never existed when I started to take photography seriously decades ago.

As is also common with lots of new products the manual contains a slew of cautions and danger messages to help keep you and the equipment safe.

This particular model has an adjustment on the viewfinder eyepiece that allows me to adjust it so when things are actually in focus inside the camera they actually look in focus to my slightly skewed twisted and partially disabled eyesight.

The worrisome part however is the warning they felt they had to give about adjusting this function.

Be careful that you don’t poke yourself in the eye with your finger.
